Filament Spool

A filament spool holds the material used by Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D printers. Made from either plastic or cardboard, it keeps filament organized for smooth feeding into the printer. Spools vary in size and are typically labeled by weight, like 500g, 1kg, or 2kg. It’s vital to ensure the spool fits the printer’s holder.

Various materials, including PLA, ABS, and PETG, come in different colors on these spools. When choosing, check the filament diameter and material type for printer compatibility.

For hassle-free printing, always secure the filament end when the printer is in use. Moreover, store spools in a cool, dry place to maintain quality.
